Back when I worked at stealth startups, everything had to be confidential. The fear was always the same: if the idea leaks, the business is ruined. I understood the logic, but I never loved what it did to the work. Design was often made in the dark, with limited feedback, and a lot of decisions were based on assumptions.
Since early 2021, I’ve been working in web3, and it feels like the opposite in the best way. Community makes it possible to test ideas early, gather feedback instantly, and iterate with real perspectives. The loop is faster, and the decisions are easier to defend because they’re grounded in what people actually respond to.
My takeaway:
Web3 is community-driven design. The community isn’t a channel, it’s part of the product.
